I need to get back into the gym... My dog had surgery on Wednesday so I have missed the gym since then staying home with her while she heals. My husband was watching her and I was going to go last night but we were both so tired we ended up napping instead. I PLAN on going as soon as my husband gets home from work tonight. I haven't left my house since Wednesday afternoon when we picked her up from the vet so I am starting to go a little stir crazy. I'm glad I have a desk job and working from home for a few days was an option for me though.
I'm feeling like a lazy blob. Its a lot harder to keep my diet spot on while I'm at home; I'm not focused on eating and since I'm not staring at a clock like I can at my desk; its harder to say... "oh it's 10:00; time to eat"
I started taking Lipo 6 Black Hers" last week, it gives me great energy. I haven't taken it in a couple of days mainly because I know I need to eat 30 minutes after I take it and I know I'll forget. My focus has been on taking care of my dog and working from my laptop.
Tonight that will change when I FINALLY get back to the gym.... I'll be working on legs, shoulders and abs :o)

Protein Bars
Last night I made another batch of my protein bars except this time I used pumpkin instead of apple sauce. YUMMY
I use oats, protein powder (Optimum Nutrition chocolate), pumpkin puree, all natural peanut butter (I used Smuckers this time), some pumpkin pie spice, 1 egg and a little brown sugar. I just baked them for about 20 minutes at 350 and slice them up into bars. It makes for an easy snack on the go, tastes like I'm eating something unhealthy and gives me a dose of carbs and protein all in the same little snack.

The BEGINING!
This is my first post on my very first blog.... where to begin.
I decided to start this blog to hold myself accountable for making my goal come true this year....
Will I think ANYONE will read this? I have no idea but if I write it all down for the chance of someone seeing it... I best keep myself in gear!
My goal is compete in my very first figure competion in October 2011, while I am preparing for this journey I will also be training for a 100 mile road ride in Tour De Cure in April 2011 which is sponsered by The American Diabetes Association. This will be my third year raising money for them. My Dad and Grandfather both have diabetes and I made a promise to myself the year my Dad was diagnosed that I would raise money every year to fight this disease, I hope that one day diabetes will be one of those diseases you talk about in past tense because there will be ways to fight it, treat it, cure it and prevent it!
Back to my figure competition.... I want to do this to prove to myself that I can transform my body into everything it can possibly be. I think the women who do these compeitions look not only graceful and strong but beautiful and feminine all at the same time; why wouldn't I want to look like that?!?!
Through this journey that I HOPE I will be sharing with others; I will be posting progess pictures of my transformation as well as my diet and some of my workouts.... I'm a huge foodie so while I eat pretty healthy; I have NO WILLPOWER and will eat anything someone puts in front of me :o) If I write down my food for someone other than myself; I am sure I can keep my food intake where it needs to be and not have so many cheat days. Right now I am in my "bulking" phase. I'm trying to gain some more muscle size on me...in order to gain muscle I had to gain some fat. Its not something I'm enjoying right now but I am very petite so while I'm not stomping around like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man... I do have days where I feel like I am :o) I'm only 5'1" and around 112, I think by competition day I will be around 108-110 and have around 10% body fat? I have a long way to go but I am excited to take on this challenge. Its something that is completely my own and I can say I did it for myself and no one else.
